Guangzhou feels just like Savannah: hot and humid. We felt right at home. Beijing was nice and cool, so this was a big climate change for us--but nothing we are not accustomed to.
There are flowers and greenery everywhere in Guangzhou. This is very different from Beijing.
Our hotel is incredibly nice. We are very blessed to be staying here for the rest of our trip. Some other families in Beijing had to go on to other provinces to meet their babies, then make their way to Guangzhou to complete the visa process. Since Naeleigh is here, we get to stay put in this gorgeous place!
We had a nice little surprise when we got into the room.
Here are some pictures I took of our hotel room. As soon as we arrived and got to our room, I immediately went into "Mommy Mode." I got everything out that belonged to Naeleigh. I began packing her diaper bag for Gottcha Day tomorrow. I got out all her toys and snacks and took a lot of pictures.
This is my bracelet from when I was a baby. Mom and Dad gave it to Naeleigh--I brought it to give to her on Gottcha Day tomorrow.
I will post tomorrow when I can. We'll see how this goes. We are leaving to meet her at 2pm. Prayers needed! Love you all!
We are so excited!! You will love Guangzhou!! It will be a wonderful place to be with Naeleigh! The park that you can walk to from the hotel (with the big pond) is beautiful! Shamian Island has many of the treasures you will bring home for her! And... you will have the greatest Holt staff (Catherine!) taking care of you!
ReplyDeleteWe are about to go to church! Erik will remind all that tomorrow is Gotcha Day... and to especially pray for Naeleigh and you both as she joins her "forever family!" Love y'all!! Susan, Erik Gabriel, Liana
:) so excited! And praying! Ahhhh I can't believe y'all are about to meet her. It's 7:45 pm here so y'all will be meeting her in the next 6-8 hours! I can't imagine the anticipation, anxiety, excitement, etc. that y'all are going through right now. We can't wait to see pictures (and video?) of Naeleigh in your arms! Love you guys!
ReplyDeleteI know you're asleep, but we are leaving in about 45 min to go to the Civil Affairs office to meet her!!!! Ahhh! So excited!
DeleteWe love ya'll too!
This so so very awesome for you guys!!! I love keeping up and crying bc I know you guys are not only getting to bring home a baby but visiting a wonderfully beautiful place that you probably never would have done this if it was not for sweet Naeleigh!!
